The right solution for every indication

German company Argon Dental showcased its comprehensive solution for dental implantology at the International Dental Show (IDS) last week for the first time. Dental Tribune Online met with medical product consultant Andreas Halamoda to speak with him about the move and the advantages of the product range.
 
Dental Tribune Online: Argon Dental exhibited in Hall 4 at IDS for the first time at this year. Was this planned?
Andreas Halamoda: Our aim was to set up in Hall 4 because there is more going on here in the field of implantology. Although we are located on the fringes this year, this is a great fit for our booth design. Despite this, our goal is to work our way towards the middle a little and hence into the mainstream. Through our efforts, our company is growing well. Our international business is very important for us, because the quality of German-made products at an affordable price is worth a great deal to foreign medical professionals.
 
Where does Argon fit into the implantology market?
Our solutions are aimed particularly at clinics that practise implantology actively, but are unable to cater to certain indications. These include, for example, implants in the upper jaw when bone volume is insufficient or in the anterior region, where aesthetics is very important. For this purpose, we offer two products that are truly outstanding. They allow clinics to provide treatment in cases in which they would otherwise need to refer patients. However, most of our implants are still sold in standard lengths and diameters. Overall, we have a suitable solution for almost every indication.
 
You have had a partnership with digital diagnostics provider Ray for many years now. What synergies have come from this relationship?
The partnership with Ray arose out of our activities in the US, where using a surgical template has been commonplace for a number of years now. Owing to this, we had to rely on digital solutions very early on in the US, which is how we came into contact with Ray. Working together, we developed a device that can give data for guided implantology to treatment providers without difficult and time-consuming interim steps.
 
It looks like IDS has once again been a resounding success. What is your opinion? 
I continually notice that the bond between our customers and dealers is very strong. People identify strongly with our products. This makes me optimistic that we will continue to receive a great deal of referrals.
