Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery requires additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training. After dental school both Dr. Nelson and Dr. McDonald have been trained as Anesthesia Evaluators for the State Board of Dental Examiners. As Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Drs. Nelson and McDonald manage a wide variety of problems relating to the Mouth, Teeth and Facial Regions. They practice a full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with expertise ranging from Corrective Jaw Surgery to Wisdom Tooth Removal. They can also diagnose and treat Facial Pain, Facial Injuries and TMJ disorders, and perform a full range of Dental Implant procedures.

The surgical staff at Drs. Nelson and McDonald's office are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in the administration of anesthesia and surgery. All staff are CPR certified and our administrative personnel are well-versed in health insurance policies.

Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, surgery can be done on the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.
