What is Prosthodontics? *Prosthodontics is one of the nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association. It is also called Prosthetic Dentistry, and is focused on the replacement of missing teeth and missing tooth structure. Prosthodontists provide treatment from the simple to the complex. They are experts in diagnosis and treatment planning and are the "Quarterbacks" in coordinating complex treatment involving multiple specialists.

What is a Prosthodontist? *Prosthodontists are experts in the restoration and replacement of teeth. They make smiles look beautiful and function the way they should. After completing four years of dental school, Prosthodontists receive an extra three years of specialized training in an American Dental Association (ADA) accredited graduate program.

*Prosthodontists are the original "Smile Makeover" artists. Long before the advent of "Cosmetic Dentistry" (there is no recognized specialty in cosmetic dentistry), Prosthodontists were restoring beauty and function to mouths ravaged by disease, trauma, aging, and wear and tear.
